The new design for my site is finally up!

After almost 4 years of launching the original joystudio website, a new design was due. I know, took me long enough right? So here it is, Version 2.0 (beta)! It’s only a soft launch though–still need a bit more fine-tuning, testing and browser debugging..etc etc. Thoughts? Let me know what you think of the new design! :)

ps. view in ie6 at your own risk, if your computer explodes don’t say I didn’t warn you!

A mid-autumn update…

new additions to portfolio

Hey everyone, sorry for being totally MIA. I always plan to blog, but been super busy with clients and school. Very recently, I updated my portfolio section of this site with new additions of my recent work. Also, it is no longer built with flash, instead it’s jquery-tastic! It works and functions almost exactly the same as before, but better since it now can be viewed on the iphone.. woot!

Happy Wednesday!

We is the “noo” me

It’s been awhile since I last posted. So what have I been so busy doing that I ditched my blog for such a long time? Well I’ve been collaborating and working for this start-up company called Noomii for quite some time. It finally publicly “beta” launched on October 1st. Check it out!

Noomii.com

www.noomii.com

So what is Noomii?

“Noomii is website that helps you and a friend achieve your big goals in life. In a system called called Pair Coaching, you life coach your friend and your friend life coaches you. It’s easy, fast, and fun. And the best part is that anyone can be a life coach – with no prior training or experience. Noomii shows you how.”

Anyway, that’s all for now.
All the best!

Happy (Chinese) New Year

Happy (Chinese) New Year everyone! I have to apologize for not being able to update this blog as much as I would like. It’s been a busy start to 2008 and I finally found 10 min to blog a little bit.

I’ve lived in Canada all my life, but I have been celebrating chinese new year with my family. It’s probably not exactly the same way people would celebrate in HongKong and China, but I assume it’s close enough.

But the main reason I’m blogging is because my parents gave me some really cute “red pockets” or lucky money envelopes. Below are very beautifully designed Winnie the Pooh and Hello Kitty envelopes, definitely a thumbs up! The best part about them is it does not look like those traditional red pockets, and yet it serves the same purpose. The money stays intact, but it also looks so good that I don’t care if there was money inside or not.

Red Pocket

In addition to cute graphics for chinese new year, I’ve spotted Yahoo! and Google chinese new year themed logos. Very cute as well.

Anyway, I’m going to work on re-vamping my portfolio and website this weekend, as well as cleaning up my blog. So if all goes well, stay tuned for the site update! Until then, best of luck to everyone. :)

Client Site Launched: Posh Parties for Kids

Posh Parties for Kids
So after many revisions, the site is finally launched!

http://www.poshpartiesforkids.ca

Designing this site was really fun, there were no limits on creativity. I actually started with more simpler designs, but my client and I kept refining and changing it, and now finally we have something that we both are happy with. The final website definitely looked better than the previous designs I made.

On a side note, I haven’t been blogging as much as I would like recently, I’ve been really busy with work and well more work. I also have to update my portfolio and finish some other personal work I’ve been putting off. If only there were more than 24 hours in a day…

Free October Think Pink Desktop Wallpaper

Think Pink Desktop

October, as we all know is breast cancer awareness month, think pink. I know it’s mid October already, but I thought I would put this up anyway. I made this awhile ago, but I keep forgetting to put it up. This creation was actually inspired the strawberry graphics in the movie “Across the Universe”.

This is free for personal use, there are three sizes available below. Feel free to use this desktop background/wallpaper anywhere you would like, as long as you leave the copyright credits on it. If you would like to use the image commercially or for other purposes, all I ask is that you leave the copyright credits on it and let me know where it will be used and the purpose of it, that’s it. Enjoy!

Image sizes available:
800×600
1024×768
1280×800
